The association " Cultural and Historical Heritage of Latvia " was founded on April 4, 2023.  The founders of the association are Aija Pilka and Inga Petersone.

Aija Pilka

(Mg. hist.) 

Gained education is related to historical research, paying special attention to cultural and historical heritage of Latvia - monuments of art, architecture, archeology, research, preservation and protection. A. Pilka is focused on researching the history of Latvian cities and parishes. During the last two years A. Pilka has published 2 books : “Ilukste – metrapolis of Augskurzeme” and “Pilskalnes parish – past and present”.

Currently, Aija Pilka has focused on the research of ethnic groups of Latvian historical lands - Curonians, Libians, Selians, Semigallians and Latgalians. In the near future A. Pilka plans to publish her studies in 5 volumes, combining them in monograph "Baltic ethnic groups in the territory of Latvia during 6th-12th centuries". By working for the association " Cultural and Historical Heritage of Latvia " A. Pilka wants to draw societies attention towards cultural history of each persons own parish, city, county and region, so eople would be proud of their birthplaces uniqueness.
In her spare time she travels around Latvia and devotes time to numismatics.


Inga Petersone

Fulfilled education is related to intercultural relations and pedagogy. The research conducted during studies analyzed communication,  language acquisition in the digital environment and the possibilities of developing active tourism (outdoor tourism) in Latvia. I. Petersone has worked as a teacher of Norwegian and English both in a comprehensive school and as part of lifelong learning. In order to gain a deeper insight, she learned the most characteristic features of the pedagogical process in working with children who have mental developmental disorders, delayed mental development, and learning disabilities. Organized and led tours for audiences of different ages in Latvian castles and manors. Currently, the daily work is related to the research in the field of art and curating art exhibitions. In her spare time, she travels around Latvia and takes part in a theater group.
