"The misunderstood
genius of Dviete"
Aija Pilka's book will
be published in the August of 2024.
The association calls
for financial support for the publication of the book!
The book will reveal
the life and work of the first grape breeder and grower in Latvia – Pauls
Sukatnieks (1914-1989). The outstanding gardener would have been 110 on April
16, 2024.
Pauls Sukatnieks lived
and worked in Selia, Dviete, Latvia. He was engaged in selection and
cultivation of grapes, melons, watermelons, quinces, apples, potatoes, roses.
The gardener's hobbies were drawing, painting, writing poetry and local
history.
Book will be published
in 1500 copies,totalling 408 pages.

Book a tribute to the city
and county of Talsi, Latvia!
A tribute to the people
of Talsi and the Talsi region is being created in cooperation with the Latvian
National History Museum and with the co-financing of the municipality of Talsi.
In 2025, the book - catalog " Curonians. Part I. Ancient women's
ornaments in the archaeological material of Talsu region" will be
published. The work is exciting and interesting, it is a pleasure to create
something lasting and valuable for Talsi and the entire Kurzeme.
Paperback circulation 1000 copies.
